P R A Y E R
Wednesday, March 14th, 2007At first I just pray for the sake of praying and sometimes do not even pray and even do not believe in Him. It even grew stronger when my mother got sick and even had a coma and she died when i was still second year high school. I started to lose hope and started to blame Him. Even to the degree that I don’t pray and go to masses. I don’t even mind praying for others. Almost forgotten that it is not just I who has problems but all of us. That it is not just I who should be listened.
But when I stepped into the real world which is in the age of 18, I started to realize and understand that life isn’t that perfect. That He is there just to guide us. All bad things that are happening are just trials in life. We just have to pray and believe.
Sometimes, I just pray for my own sake, too selfish enough to be aware of other people. Too blinded by the things that are happening. Then I realized, I was not praying in the correct manner. I was praying for myself and not for His’ will. And so I changed slowly, becoming more mature enough to understand what is happening. It feels nice if you truly make your prayer meaningful and if you put concern to it.
Sometimes, I just go to the backfield (school) all by myself and just sit under the acacia tree and feel the blowing wind on my face; adoring the beauty of nature. That is how I pray sometimes. Sometimes even if it hurts, I pray that God’s will be done. There are times that my prayer weren’t answered. Maybe He has another plan for me. Still, I do not lose hope. I ask that whatever His plans are, may His will be done.
For me praying is a communication to God. It’s as if He is your friend, a person to lean on; and for me praying works. There are so many people in need everyday. Life today isn’t easy and even if we can physically do little for others… but we can always pray. That doesn’t cost a thing… and it does work. Praying for others also shows you care and caring for others is a big part of who we are and who we become. Every little thing we do counts…
There are two poems that I like and they serve as my inspiration:
The Praying Heart
The heart that prays soars high on strong, glad wings,
And finds strange rest beyond the strife of things,
The heart that prays in trusting self-surrender
Finds Christ’s own peace and life’s eternal splendor.
Through prayer GOD breathes His secret to the heart,
Speak to Him often in the busy mart,
Or call Him in the deep of sorrow’s night;
His love floods in with the healing, guiding light.

Prayers Can’t Be Answered Unless They Are Prayed
Life without purpose is barren indeed-
There can’t be a harvest unless you plant seed,
There can’t be attainment unless there’s goal,
And man’s but a robot unless there’s a soul…
If we send no ships out, no ships will come in,
And unless there’s a contest, nobody can win,
For games can’t be won unless they are played,
And PRAYERS can’t be ANSWERED unless they are PRAYED…
So whatever is wrong with your life today,
You’ll find a solution if you kneel down and pray
Not just for pleasure, enjoyment and health,
Not just for honors and prestige and wealth,
But PRAY FOR A PURPOSE to MAKE LIFE WORTH LIVING,
And PRAY FOR THE JOY of UNSELFISH GIVING,
For GREAT IS YOUR GLADNESS and RICH YOUR REWARD
When you make your LIFE’S PURPOSE the choice to the Lord…

I was touched by these poems and I am very much motivated by these two poems. I am slowly understanding the true meaning of prayer. And if people only knew that prayer heals all wounds and if they only knew that it is where we find rest. They would be able to feel its importance to their lives…
Note: ala lang, i just want to share them to you… God Bless! (",)
